My mother is in the hospital

Sorry I haven't been posting much lately and now I come to ask for vibes...

My mom was admitted to the hospital on Friday. Her legs had been swelling up for a while and last week her arms started swelling as well and she was so weak it was hard for her to even move. I have been caring for her for almost 10 years and it is hard to get her to go to the hospital....she is a bit stubborn, but that trait runs in the family, lol.

They are not sure what is going on yet but they are getting all of that excess fluid out of her (about 40 pounds worth ) and then will check her heart valves (she had one replaced in 2001) to see if they are ok or are stating to clog. Then they will move on from there. Plus she had a very low body temp of 95.something the went up a bit later in the day to 96.something. (I'm not sure what that means though)

She is 87 years old so if it is her heart surgery probably won't be an option. She just looks so bad when I went to visit yesterday I am very worried about her.

Any vibes or prayers would be much appreciated.

My 85 year old f-i-l just had a quadruple bypass graft on April 1st. He is having some problems with anemia right now, but otherwise doing fine.

Oh, I hope they find they can fix what's wrong, even if it does require surgery. And once she's doing better and can go home, maybe you can get her to make the same agreement I made with my father when he started having fluid problems like this: to go for preventive appointments with the doctor every other month, so we could catch trends before they became serious and we ended up in the emergency room again. It was a great plan, and it worked very well for him the last few years of his life.

Prayers for her. My Dad gets that and he had to have a Triple Bypass about 2 years ago.
