Someone once told me that she thinks that crystal cat litter is the best she has ever used. She used to mix the crystal litter with regular clay litter and then quit because the crystals were so much better. She likes it better than scoopable even. Does anyone here have experience with crystal litter?

This fountain was purchased because it was not plastic and saw it on a site on constipation for cats and was promoted as one that cats would use. However, it is expensive. It is very heavy,...

I had to use a dropper with this since it was kind of hard to put it in my cat's ears. I cleaned my cats ears first, then I put the R-7M cleaner in her ears. Next, I inserted 10 drops into each...

It is the most economical litter I have ever used. I only put a layer of litter in the pan that will cover half the pan. As the cats use it, it turns to sawdust. When its all dust you dump it....

This is probably the single most important toy I ever bought. I got it when my boy was a kitten and two years later, he still plays with it every day.

My Sister uses it and loves it. She says you change it once a month.

once a month?! Does she scoop out the poo daily or anything? I would think that what built up in the box in a month would deter the cats from using it!

We tried the crystal litter (tidy cats crystals and fresh step crystals) way back when they first came out. They didn't work for us. Despite following the directions, we had urine pooled in the bottom of the box. One of my cats was so stressed by it, I made an emergency run to the store and bought clumping clay litter. He got so upset he pooped in a corner. All was back to normal when I put clumping litter back in the box.
I do like the litters that are a crystal and clumping clay blend.

I personally don't like crystal litter for many reasons:
1. I actually don't like the way it looks (especially after it's been peed upon)
2. Of the many types I have tried, I hate the smell (irrespective if it's brand new or soiled)
3. If using the ball type, some cats may track it out and the cats play with it. It also hurts a lot when you step on it after the cats have played with it....
4. If using the ball type, the individual balls may get stuck between the toes and if missed, can cause infection.
5. The rock type can cause cuts on kitty's paw pads
6. Not safe for kittens (if eaten, the crystals can and will expand in the tummy).
Just IMO....
