Hiya!
I signed up for these forums a day or so ago. Girlfriend and I recently adopted a cat, a roommate of ours already has one. The older one is about a year or so and well...Thomas...her cat was abused and left to live by himself 4-5 weeks at a time. So he's kinda like to keeps to himself, doesn't like when people wave their hands or raise their voices. He's also terrified of the hoover.
But he's slowly getting out of his shell and getting used to us. Just a few days ago during the dinner he jumped in my lap and gave me a rub.
As I mentioned we adopted a kitten 4 days ago. He's only 5 weeks old when we adopted him, people at the shelter told us that he eat solid food no problem. When we came home, we found out that he didn't. So had to start using wet food and milk. The day we got him, he was scared, his coat wasn't shining and I could feel his ribcage. Guess what...only 4 days and his coat is shining, not sure if it's because of the diet or because we brush him every evening (and he loves it!). His tummy seems full, but I'm kinda worried that perhaps he has worms. So we are going to the vet tomorrow morning, hopefully he'll tell us that the kitten is alright!
Oh...here are a few pictures, I believe I already posted them in other thread on the website, but darn...ain't he cute or what?
Salem by himself, sitting next to his bed and a meal bowl.

Girlfriend and I have previous experience with pets, probably if summed up all the pets we have, we'll be able to make a small zoo.
Still I must admit that I have my utmost respect to the people who foster newly born kittens. So salute to all of you who help these homeless little fellas and not only by providing with food and roof under their furry little heads, but showing that not all people are bad and a lot of us have good hearts.
