Hi, I am glad all of you are there to help me figure out what my Alley's vomiting problem is, or at least enough info for me to try some tests to figure it out. I am also in contact with her vet and have spent $500 so far on this problem. I am testing different types of food with her and saw, somewhere on this site about elevating food so they eat it slower; I do know now that this is one of her problems as I have been logging her eating habits, food, etc for 6 weeks. So, if one of you can describe how to elevate her (dry only?) food (or tell me where I can go to read or see how this is done) I'm sure this will help eliminate part of her problem. Thank you so much, in advance!!

I just put the bowl on a phone book or a small box. If she moves it while she eats, you may want to put the phone book/box up against a wall so the bowl isn't pushed onto the floor.

So just 2 or 3 inches from the floor and against a wall; this should slow down her swallowing? :-)

I have these for my girls, and they are everything they claim. Not cheap, but to my mind worth every penny.

Kitty had a terrible regurgitation problem until I raised his wet food dish thanks to advice here
Also I make sure he has dry food to last through the night as he was regurgitating his breakfast if he ate on an empty stomach.

I`m feeding him off paper plate because he had a bad attack of acne recently and this way I know they are clean every meal. Also if your going to raise their dishes you need to use a flat plate or dish. Kittys is just on top of an old dvd box and I have to use a loop of masking tape underneath to keep the plate in place but his regurgitating is so much better

I never found he had a problem with dry so thats in an ordinary steel dish.

When I was trying to find out what was wrong with him I did come across something on the net about the bowls needing to be raised because some cats have a congenital narrowing or something of the oesophagus. I`ll have a looksee for it.
