My two do a good deal of napping, chasing each other and bird watching. Right now the leaves are fully back on the trees, the birds are nesting out front and their window perch is at exactly the right spot (kitty TV!)

I am neurotic about them being bored, so not only do they have tons of scratching boxes and kitty furnature, I rotate the toys so that not too many are out at once and they seem like new when they come back out again (a tip I picked up from a cat behavior book).

They also talk to the neighbors cat in the window and watch the squirrels/alley cats out back. I think it's generally a busy day

I have 6 cats and 5 of them are getting pretty lazy. They have a bedroom upstairs with a king sized bed. That is their bedroom and they just love it up there. My Bengal cat is very active in the morning. She gets up with a bang and starts rearranging the house. She entertains herself most the morning! Then she naps in the afternoon then starts up again in the evening!

My very first cat, my beloved Sydney used to sleep in my box springs! Awww....thanks for bringing back some really great memories. I can see him right now as a little kitten scratching his way into the box spring. I loved him so much..and still do!

I have no idea what Libbi does all day. I assume she sleeps in her “room†(aka the spare closet – her choice!) where she ALWAYS is. Spooky likes to sleep some, play with his toys, figure out how to open doors and overall try to get into things he knows heâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s not supposed to, follow my roommate around and play with him, sleep some more, and then sit and stare out windows. Apparently he plays with my roommate by lying in front of the door when the roomie goes outside, and makes him slide him across the floor (gently) with the door to open it. He thinks this is great fun and will keep running back to lie in front of the door several times if you keep doing it for him.

I'm not sure, as I'm usually at work, but I think that he spends most of his time sleeping. That's what Father said he did back when he was alive, anyway.

my kitties used to lay in the windows all day but for some reason this apt doesnt have window sills. the poor kitties kept knocking themselves silly trying to jump in the windows b/c the windows have white wooden frames on the insides giving the illusion of sills. they did get to lay in the windows before it got too hot to leave them open. (my screens are stapled to the outside of the building so when the windows are open, theres like 2ft of room for them to stretch out)

they also like to nose thru the cabinets at night, leaving all the doors open but apparently that got old, plus they kept getting in trouble for all the cabinet doors being opened in the morning. they like to open my only closet (which is in the hallway and VERY creepy) and stare into it. they wont go into it but one will push the other into and then she will run back out LOL (im not entirely convinced this place ISNT haunted and not just with kittens, but y'know... )

my apt is really strangely built in case yall were wondering haha

Mine climb their trees, sleep, eat, watch life on the outside by a window or a door. They wrestle and play chase. They follow me around. Run up and down the staircases. Explore the basement.

I'm pretty sure Kitten lays by the back glass sliding door all day. One of the outer panes shattered last weekend (man with a weed whacker
) so there is a large piece of pegboard sitting infront of it outside to protect the other pane. Instead of Kitten moving inches to the left so she can see everything, I find her in the same spot staring at just one peg hole. Oh, she is the most lovable dumdum!

We get up early, 5ish, we all have coffee, my coffee, with 4 noses poked in it just to see. If I work that day I go, If I am home like I have been the last month. We have breakfast, I scoop boxes, with help. Do dishes, Bandit sits by the running water and plays in it as I rinse. Then when I am done she gets in the sink and plays. She loves water. Everyone justs sits around my feet and tries tripping me. Then we are off to the bathroom to groom, and dress, EVERY one comes with me. By then It's nap time, unless I am online, then I need help to type or to find the letters coming up on the screen. Play time is every night between 5-7 pm Daddy is home & plays with them. Oh yeah they play again around 9 pm too. Cuz its a long night and we slept a good bit of the day.
Can you tell our 2 human kids are grown and gone. We just have fur babies now. 4 of them. They are 4 months old. I will miss them when I go back to work next week.

And please excuse my mistakes, I had 2 small helpers, at the keyboard.
K.

We got our cat a "pet" , We bought 2 young gerbils and put them in a 20 gal aquarium with a heavy lid so kitty cAn watch but not touch. Our cat watches them for hours. She also enjoys our fish aquarium. Another thing you might try to entertain your cats is to put a bird feeder outside there favorite window.

This thread got me thinking about my cats. I've felt for awhile that they have their own schedule. I have none since I'm retired. I have a hard time keeping a schedule.

Now I've got it down. They don't keep a 24-hour schedule exactly. They keep two 12-hour shifts that duplicate each other.

4 to 10 is awake time. They play tag, play with their toys, catch the shadows and whatever else they think of. They eat, use the kitty litter and take some small naps.
This is the same whether it is 4am to 10am or 4 pm to 10 pm..

From 10 to 4 they mostly sleep. Occasionally they wake up, check up on me, wander around, look out the windows, but they usually fall back asleep after a short while. That's the same whether is 10 am to 4pm or 10pm to 4am.

It's normal for cats to sleep 14-16 hours a day, so they do sleep a lot. Especially from our viewpoint.

This has its good points. They are awake when we get up and get ready to go to work. Then when we get home, they are awake for our appearance. They don't get too bored because they sleep so much.

I LOVE CATS!! They are just so cool!

Murray probably sleeps most of the day while I'm gone. I leave the radio on for him, tuned to the sports talk station, in case he wants to be kept company by a human voice. When I'm home, he will sit with me while I read or watch TV; he sometimes will doze, other times will just lie there and keep me company. He seems content enough. He also likes to look out my back patio door, especially if there are birds hanging around. (I sometimes fill up a bird feeder to attract them, and I have a birdbath out back, too.) Murray doesn't play with toys, except for an interactive mouse-on-a-string that I try to play with him frequently when I am home. Murray also plays with caps from water bottles, batting them around the house, usually when I am home but sometimes also when I am away.

Simba, who lives with my parents, likes to play with toys, especially along with my mom's interaction. He sleeps a lot, too, during the day. When he's not playing or sleeping, he likes to look out the window at the birds or at people working outside, or sit with my mom or dad while they watch TV and keep them company.

since I got Kitty a friend (Holly the Ocicat kitten) , they chase each other ALOT. Like you wouldn't believe. So now Kiity is getting lots of excercise, and when they are not eating together, playing together, or following me around, they sleep alot I think. My living room is full of cat toys, the spoiled kitties

Before I leave for work in the morning, I observe my two tortie girls whispering to each other and acting rather anxious for me to leave. Based on what I know about them, I can only assume that they get online (they have closely watched me operating my laptop, quietly learning how to use it) and research various ways to achieve complete world dominance. I am assuming that Marcie (with her regal demeanor) will appear to be the one in control, while Darcy (with her opposable thumbs and superior intellect) will be the one actually in control behind the scenes hatching up all sorts of evil plots.

Either that or they sleep most of the day....

Mine do what most of us wish we could do. The eat, nap, play, watch out the windows, nap, play, eat.
