I was just pondering about this last night and no one can answer my question and I don't remember discussing it in my high school government class......................


Can a former president be the vice president???

Why or why not??

12th Amendment

"no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

so 2 term president could not,
but 1 term president could

And why not would probably be that since the President is limited to two terms, if he became vice president (after serving two terms as prez), he could conceivably serve a third term if something happened to the president. At least that's my guess.
