If the General Election were today...

Who would you vote for?

It looks like Obama has wrapped up with Democratic nomination with enough SuperDelegates pledging to him.

So who would it be if we were voting today?

independant ... mc cain is okay but ...

I voted write-in. I'd probably write in Ron Paul, if he wasn't already on the ballot. I know in Wisconsin, there's usually a Libertarian party candidate on the ballot but I don't know if and who it will be this time around.
Bob Barr is running as the Libertarian.

He will split the vote on the Republican side or siphon off unhappy independents who used to be Republican.

I voted for write-in, too.
John McCain will be getting my vote - no way i'll be voting for Obama. If something changes though i might consider a write in- as for now though i'm pretty set on McCain.

Now if Clinton had stood a chance i may have considered her but now that it's pretty clear- i'm voting for McCain. My top pick was Huckabee though

I personally don't really care for any of the canidates that much but I respect McCain a lot more than Obama. I do NOT trust Obama with our country or our military- McCain served our country well and has proven his loyalty- he gets my vote if i have to choose.

i am going to vote for me.

Originally I liked Edwards. But the more I hear of Obama, the more I like.

You have my vote.

Anybody but Obama. I could never vote for someone who supports partial-birth abortion. He also supports letting a baby who survived an abortion die without medical attention. Nice...
If Hillary is on the Obama ticket as VP, I will vote for him. Othewise, I am writing in Hillary.
At this time we plan on doing write-in depending on who they pick as VP.

Oh no, please tell me that isn't true. How awful.

Obama's been my man from the get-go.

"supports" is an odd word to describe someone who wants states to restrict them so long as they make concessions in instance where the mother and the child are both going to die anyway.

The emphasis is on expanding health care so that abortions, especially ones like that aren't necessary, not on forcing women to carry life-threatening pregnancies to term for the sake of someone else's "moral" standards.
That isn't what I get from his web-site.

I must say I find it very odd that some liberals that are pro-choice and think it is fine for women to have abortions are the same people that are against the Death Penalty for violent
killers.
Being pro-choice does not necessarily mean pro-abortion. All it means is that one acknowledges that the decision is a moral one and can only be made for oneself, not for anyone else. If one believes that, then it is necessary to leave the choice open to others, even if one would not choose abortion for oneself.

As for the death penalty, there have been enough wrongful convictions, which, had they carried the death penalty would have resulted in an innocent person being executed. It's bad enough that people who are wrongfully convicted lose however many years of their lives, not to mention their reputation.

I'm voting for Obama...

And those people find it bizarre that someone can be adamantly pro-life and yet also adamantly support the death penalty.

Ahhhh, got you there Z. I am not in favor of the Death Penalty anymore and haven't been for a while now. I am vehemently against partial-birth abortions, I think it is horrendous.

Rapunzel, I see what you are saying and agree with you for the most part.

This baby got a second chance.

I'm for the death penalty...but only in the most heinous cases where there is no doubt they are guilty, ie a confession. To my knowledge there are no known cases where an innocent man was wrongly executed.

And I'm not necessarily totally against abortion in every case ie if the mom's life is in danger. I do have a problem with partial birth abortion though. Folks, its just brutal!

I've been away from this poll for a couple days, so it's interesting to see that it's still neck and neck.

I didn't say you were; a good number of people fit the pattern though. And on either side, many of those people find the opposite view indefensible.

Yes and the third parties can make or break it.
Oh Dumbo ears is winning. Gross!!!!
I'm voting for Hilary by write in, unless, of course she is on the ticket, then I will be forced to vote for Obama.:

I think there are cases of innocent men executed for murders they did not commit, I know incarceration is plentiful.
Probably could do an internet search and find out, then interested parties could make a factual statement, not a speculation.
Well if someone pointed a gun to my head and made me vote for a Democrat......I'd take the bullet! No seriously, I think Hillary is alot better candidate than Obama...she's smarter and tougher and more experienced. I was dissappointed she didn't get the nomination. I think Bill hurt her....

Well, just break it, I think. It's a shame there's no viable third party. Viable in the sense their candidate actually has a chance in h*** to get elected. About all they can really do now is swing the election to one of the two major parties by taking away the votes from the other side.

Yep, just like Ross Perot helped win it for Clinton in '92, and Ralph Nader helped win it for Bush in '00. Is Ron Paul running as an Independent....or Libertarian?
Well, he started out as a candidate for the Republican nomination, so I don't know if he's actually still running. I just checked his website, and it looks like he's still thinking about it.
