The kittens are 4 weeks old now and really wanting out of the box they're in. They're jumping up the sides and catching the top. The problem is, they're confined to a bedroom and I don't want to let them roam free under the bed and dresser, I worry that they'll get stuck or lost. I can't find any way to block them off, so I'm not sure what to do. Any suggestions?

When I had that problem, I took the pillows off my bed and lined them up all the way around my bed to form a blockade. You can try to do something similar to your dresser. Once the little one have decided they want out, it's only a matter of time before they'll be able to climb out themselves. If you still don't feel comfortable letting them run around in the bedroom, try keeping them in a bathroom.

Good luck!

We do have a big dog cage, but my boyfriend is afraid the kittens will try to stick thier heads between the bars and strangle themselves. I find it unlikely that they would.

I know what I'm going to do when the time comes. Since we are moving, we will have a large amount of boxes that will be empty so I'm going to cut them up and wedge them under the bed vertically so they can't get under it. I refuse to spend 200 bux on a dog cage when I can do something else for much cheaper. The kitties are going to want to run around now with their strength and energy.

I have a spare room for them, so it will be easy for me to check for "messes" on the floor instead of all over the house LOL. Once they are fully litter trained, I will let them come out and view the rest of the world

Hope this helps a little.

I have a now almost 4 month old what I did was went to Petco and bought something similar to this
http://www.petco.com/product/13909/M...cise-Pens.aspx when she started climbing out of her box. Now she is too old for it and runs all around the house but it worked well until she was almost 3 months old. When her legs got long enough she could climb out I lined the inside with cardboard and tied it to the pen. When she would try to climb out she would just slide back down because she couldn't grip the cardboard.

The one I have has very narrow slats so the baby couldn't get her head through and also the slats are vertical so she couldn't climb up because there was too much room between and her legs weren't long enough. Mine you can make into a square or octagon and can change the size as they grow. I put a stool on the outside so mama could get on the stool and jump over into the pen.

The one I have cost a little over $100.00 but was worth every penny for the piece of mind I had knowing she couldn't get in to anything while I was at work.

I don't know how big the bedroom is, but what about something like a small plastic kiddie pool?
