I have two sister kittens, both 9 weeks old. They are always play fighting with each other and then licking each other 10 minutes later so i guess they like each other.

However it has got to the stage where one bit ones paw and she was unable to walk for 2 days. Now she is better it looks as though she has bit her sister and now she is begining to limp.

Is this normal?

Is there any thing i can do to stop them fighting or will it eventually stop?

Will they hurt each other more than just a bite on the leg?

Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks

Any serious cat bite can cause an abcess on the part that was bit. I had it happen to rex kittens (3 months old). One boy got bit on the tail by a litter mate - formed a small abcess. Vet gave me antibiotics and I had some healing herbs to rub into the spot to help make it disappear (I don't remember what I used, but it worked really good)

You might want that foot looked at by a vet. In the meantime, keep their nails cut and try to break it up when they get too rough (maybe separate them for 10-15 mins).

My 7 week olds play chase and wrestle but biting that hard seems a little rough. You may have to monitor them and teach when enough is enough.

Just something to think about. My two monsters played cute and sweet at first. AS they started to grow, they started playing a lot more aggressively. it got to the point that they'd piss each other off, do the side walk with the fuzz tail and stare each other down.

I think you just have to grab one and separate them at times. I noticed that if I moved one, about 20 seconds later they'd find something else interesting and be off on a new adventure. I wouldn't have gotten involved but the problem is, in a normal kitten's life they have a parent to keep them in line. Sometimes they have to dsicipline their kids from time to time so you will need to as well. Don't spank them, I just use a stern voice and a point in the face! Bad part is sometimes they think that's a toy and they swat it

Now, 4 months old, they rarely play fight, but they can still get agressive. Not ina mean way, they're just learning

Our kittens all like to tussle a lot - but mom doesn't seem interested in disciplining them, so when things get out of hand, I separate them. (Would spray them with the water bottle except it doesn't bother them! ) They're still learning boundaries and if no adult cat is showing them where they are, then I figure I should.
