to my cat who tends to block?

I have been TRYING <sigh> to get Panther to eat the canned food that is good for cats who block BUT -----! First he liked WD and then not, THEN he liked Eukanuba low Ph and then not. THEN he LOVED Royal Canin SO and now won't eat it.

I bought some SD, Eukanuba and other food like that which is in Gravy and thought if it won't hurt him I would mash it into gravy and mix with his SO. Will that cause him any harm?

Also what do you think about KD and Purina NF (meant for kidney cats) for him to eat (canned ONLY) as he LOVES those?

Since he is on a prescription diet, and since most of the foods you mentioned are prescription foods, I would talk with the vet. I'm not a big fan of the renal diets except in cases of advance renal failure. You may want to discuss with your vet whether a prescription food is necessary. How long ago did your cat block, and what was he eating at the time he blocked? If he was eating primarily dry food, then switching to canned food of any kind might help, but it's important to work closely with your vet to find a food that works for Panther's individual body--not all things work for all cats.

I love my Vet - as a person but as a Vet I just am not confident in him OR in any other vets around! <sigh>
