Hey all,
We need some advice. Our 3 year old cat is havin throat problems; he came home after being out on the prowl just over an hour ago, and since coming in has been
- having trouble swallowing
- having trouble eating
- gagging and wretching occassionally
- wheezing when he sleeps (he has a nasal problem and always wheezes a little, the vet(s) have told us not to worry about it.. but it seems to be worse at the moment..)
any help would be appreciated!
thanks

If a cat is not eating they need to see a vet ASAP. I would take him to an animal hospital. He could have swallowed something.

I was going to say, it sounds like he might have a piece of bone or a stick or grass or something caught in his throat.

This can be a serious problem, because it can perforate the esophagus, interfere with breathing, migrate to the stomach, etc.

I agree. My parents had a cat that ate a bird and he had a claw lodged in his throat. Please see that this kitty gets to a vet!
