Meet Kia and Max!

Kia and Max are my sisters dogs and as she has come down from Orkney for my dads partners funeral, I got to see them all for the first time in a year and a half
It was so good to see them all again but she is going home sunday so I`m going over to see her again saturday as she staying at my brothers place.

Anyhoo, here are Kia and Max!
Kia is the greyhound. She broke and dislocated her neck just over a year ago and is so lucky to be alive

Max is the HUGE yellow lab. He is the soppiest dog I have ever met

After digging out the instructions for my camera we worked out how to set the timer and tried a group pic. Unfortunatley Max decided to lick my face just as it took the picture ( Note the attractive expression! )

They are adorable!

I can't believe she broke her neck! Oh my goodness! No wonder people don't like greyhound races! I've wanted to see a race, but I just can't stand how they treat the dog!

Oh no! She`s not a racing dog.
My sister got her as a puppy from an unwanted litter. But she takes them both to the beach twice a day so they get a good run and someone else was there with a group of dogs ( 2 of which were muzzled greyhounds ) this day and the dogs weren`t under control and the woman was just walking along ignoring what they were doing. They decided to chase Kia down and basically she couldn`t get away from them and she fell.

She couldn`t get up and was screaming in pain so my sister had to ring the vets and they sent out a nurse to get her into the car.

To cut a long story short, the vet was rubbish, didn`t bother to xray and sent her home after 2 days even though she could barely stand with the doggy equivelant of paracetamol After 2 weeks my sister took her off the island to a specialist and they found she had a break at one end and a dislocation at the other and she had to spend about a month in a body sling at the vets.

The specialist told her if she had had a fall in those 2 weeks it could have killed her. But she is doing well now considering. She`s a fighter

kia reminds me of my rb lurcher leo. greyhounds and lurchers have the same beautiful expressions.

that was an amazing story about her. she obviously has a real fighting spirit to overcome that.

Awww they are cute and cuddly. But I don't think I've ever seen a greyhound with their ears fully erect Looks a bit strange.

She is a real sweetie! She get`s beaten up my sisters 'special needs' cat and she just takes it.

I don`t know how she trained her but my sister stands in front of her and says, 'Ears up!' and she does it!

Max sure is a handsome boy!! But, Kia is exactly the kind of dog I would like. I love brindle greyhounds. She is a beautiful princess.

Beautiful dogs! My brother and Sister-in-law used to have a Greyhound, so they're one of my favorites, and Max is no slouch either!
