My husband is deployed in Iraq. His team sort of inherited a couple of cats the previous unit had taken care of. One of the cats had kittens a month ago and my husband would like to have them vaccinated-and, incidentally, the mom spayed. Unfortunately the Army vet there says it's not in her job description to take care of stray Iraqi cats and won't vaccinate or spay the cats. Is there anywhere online I can purchase vaccines for him and mail them to him so the medic who works with my husband can administer them? And what would I need to buy?

Thank you,

Erin

Gee lovely vet. The soldiers have taken an interest in the cat and it probably helps them feel better and give them a smile. No one is asking her to spay the entire cat population in Iraq.

I hope someone comes along with an answer because I am not sure about that.

It does make them feel better. My DH is always telling me how guys are making excuses to drop by his room and than cooing over the kittens. Even the guy who is scared of cats has come by to check on their progress. There are few things cuter than a kitten.

Well that's a problem. You can't ship overnight to Iraq. But thanks for the suggestion.

I know the online vaccines over here are shipped cold too, I think that's going to be a problem for you wherever you buy from unfortunately.

Thanks for the help. I did see where I could have ordered them from Drs Foster and Smith online, but not for shipping to APOs and definitely to Iraq if they have to be cold. There is no way to guarantee arrival times with the military postal service.
