My cat bear as a uri and he did drink a little this morning and he also ate a quarter of a can of fancy feast (the small cans) He absoutly hates when I give him water in a syringe. I am just wondering if thats enough water or should I give him the water in a syringe? I might try sticking my finger in the water to and see if he licks the droplets off also.

It depends on the weather, type of food, and health condition of the cat. Cats drink more during hot weather. They need more if they are on a dry food diet or if he is ill.
I read that they need 2.5 times the food intake. This does not necessarily mean water only. They can get the liquid from the wet food.
But one thing for sure, fresh water should be available to them daily.

you could add extra water to his wet food - that would increase his fluid intake!

A cats basic water need is 60 ml/kg (appr. 1 oz/lb). How much the cat have to drink depends on what it eats. If it's on an all dry diet it will have to drink basically 60 ml/kg, if it's on an all wet diet it probably won't have to drink any water at all (unless it's very warm).
