I need some advice. One of my ferals had kittens last August. Now, one of those babies just had babies herself. Does she know what to do? She did not look like she was finding a nesting area like her mother did. Is there a chance she will not know what to do?

Thank you.

She may or may not. There is no way to tell really. Stress isin't really great for momma cats...but is there any way your could trap her until her babies were born to make sure they are safe. You should be able to adopt them out and then spay and release the mom so she doesn't keep adding to the problem. If you put momma in a dark, quite place, in a cage like a dog crate with food and bedding she should do ok. I can't imagine little babies surviving very long in an urban world...especially during the summer months when it can get unbearable hot in some places.

The momma cat I adopted seemed very young, but once she had the kittens she knew exactly what to do. If you are able to separate the mom into her own space and let her raise the kittens undisturbed with a steady supply of high calorie kitten food, she should do just fine on her own. That is based on my 1 experience, so take it for what its worth.
