I was thinking about buying a vicks vaporizer thingy for my cat to clear his airways up (he has a uri)
http://www.vicks.com/vaporizers-info.php

I have never used one before. Do you think it will help? I wonder if it sends any kind of oder out in the air because Bear hates smelly stuff. Which one should I buy. Anyone know how much they run at walmart?

well, it'll smell if you put Vicks into it, but not if you use plain water.
wal-mart def sells vaporizers - look in the health/beauty section... most likely w/the baby stuff.
oh, & you never know - he might like the smell of Vicks. one of mine loves mint/menthol smelling things.

Pearl loves the smell of anything menthol. She just assaulted my leg covered in Biofreeze. Fred loved the smell of those little inhalers. I always carry one in my pocket, and he would swipe it, then bring it to me to open. Silly boy.

Steam helps but when my kittens had URIs I just turned up the shower and used the steam from that instead.

There is controversy about if vicks is good for cats or not. It had been used for many years to help cat with URIs. However, recent studies are starting to show that the menthol will help for a short while, but then they become worse then before. I would stick to just the steam for now to be on the safe side.
