the lady i normally get my show quality breeder mice from has texel mice,
these are like normal mice just called texel because of there fur

there fur is like that of a devon rex cat thick curls on there fur, these are the pics she sent (i have permission too use)

Im getting 3 does and a stunning buck, we didnt get long too discuss colours, but she has...
Chocolate & white / Ginger & white / Silver & white.

I realy recommend those who like cute pics of mice and colour genetics (goldenkitty
) keep an eye out for my posts with babies in the next 3 weeks, as ill be mixing and matching my non tex females (tex cariers) with the male tex etc... to get better colours.. and ill be working on a paternd line of banded.. aka the ones at the bottom is broken banded, ill be clearing that out of the gene too make a clear band through the middle and a dark coloured head and bottom all the way round...
I want one!

Very cute texels! I've owned a few mice before but it's been a long time...mostly hamsters and rats now.
I wanted to show my rats, I went to one rat show without them but I never actually brought them to one.

I used to have a rex rat, here are some photos... Kei was a russian blue rex.

Awww, Kei is adorable! I could have had a rex rat... but the darn thing just had to be a male, when I have girls. None of the vets around here have ever done a neuter on a rat, and I couldn't afford the prices at the nearest specialist, so I had to pass on him.

Awww a mini Kei, that would be so cute!

I actually didn't plan to get a rex or even a russian blue rat... I had been waiting forever to get an american blue (it's a paler silverly color) rat and one breeder said they didn't have any but they did have a cinnamon agouti available-- so I ended up adopting my other rattie Cara instead... (Here's a photo of her.)
Then I was waiting on a litter from another breeder which was supposed to have american blue babies, but the rat reabsorbed the litter so she didn't have any american blues... So the breeder sent me an email with the 'baby photo' I posted attached and said she had this russian blue rex girl who was not spoken for. Of course once I saw the photo I could not resist! Well, it's about 3-4 years later and I still have not gotten an american blue but I am very glad I ended up with Kei, she was a real sweetie... I'm still on waiting lists for a few rat breeders in case they ever have american blue rats but it just doesn't seem to a common color in my area. I don't have any rats right now, I'm planning to wait until I find an american blue this time...
