*Cuteness Warning*

OMG im on

the lady i normally get my show quality breeder mice from has texel mice,
these are like normal mice just called texel because of there fur

there fur is like that of a devon rex cat thick curls on there fur, these are the pics she sent (i have permission too use)

Im getting 3 does and a stunning buck, we didnt get long too discuss colours, but she has...
Chocolate & white / Ginger & white / Silver & white.

I realy recommend those who like cute pics of mice and colour genetics (goldenkitty
) keep an eye out for my posts with babies in the next 3 weeks, as ill be mixing and matching my non tex females (tex cariers) with the male tex etc... to get better colours.. and ill be working on a paternd line of banded.. aka the ones at the bottom is broken banded, ill be clearing that out of the gene too make a clear band through the middle and a dark coloured head and bottom all the way round...

Oh wow! But I thought they were called Rex mice? Is there a difference?

BTW they look more like Cornish rex kittens then Devon rex kittens - Cornish are wavy coats at birth

i fell inlove with rex cats years back when our neighbours rex escaped and came into my flat one day too say hi!
i so nearly had too keep her till the lady came round and explaind her cat had escaped then i gave her bakc

texels are rex and longhaired mice...
so longhaired rex's instead of short tight woven fur to the body...

i have had an hour long talk too a good breeder and friend about the genetics and oh my am i looking forward too the out come of the mixing and matching of these if i was too breed a texel with a standard satin i should get rex's and standards....but if tex X tex i should get Tex's and maybe the occaional long hair.....

dwarf hamsters started my obsession with mice

theyre small and love bugs...
then i found a mouse looking for a new hammy after my cmpanion past on... well then that mousey came home and like heck have i looked back....
rats are social and less skittish, syrian hamsters i really fear due too there bitey nature,... mice can be skittish unless you get them from a breeder...
pet store mice live little lives or so im told due too there inbreeding and poor conditions...
but by all means you could tell my faves are rats

im now pushing on keeping 11 but i may (will be once the partner is told) keeping some tex babies

ill shut it im rambling on

Well lol like the cat shows i guess they judge by standards....
my mice are the show standard but the mice shows are so competitive and everyone is so snooty.

both me and the breeder these guys came frm have settled too breed for fun
we know there the required standard that what counts

as far as i know they hold the mouse at the base of the tail and look at colour, body shape ears and fur density etc
very fussy process
