I have an almost 1yr. old Ragdoll kitten that seems to have loose stools every so often. I'd say this happens maybe once a week, sometimes more, sometimes less. He's UTD on all shots and has been wormed, and tested for worms, all negative.

He has always eaten the Royal Canin Kitten since I got him, along with 1/4 of a 5oz. can of Nutro wet food at night (sometimes I skip a night though, it just depends). I have since mixed in some Adult Felidae into his food, because I want to start switching him off the kitten onto adult. I'd say the mixture is about 80% kitten food, 20% adult right now. The loose stools were happening before the addition of the adult food, so I don't think that is the issue. The loose stools happen intermittently, so I can't put my finger on if one certain thing is causing them (ex. It's not just happening when he gets wet food, etc.).

Do some cats just have 'issues' in this category? One of my other boys had this problem when he was younger too, but seemed to grow out of it (although I did have him on the Royal Canin Sensitive stuff for awhile).

Any suggestions on what to do? His only other 'issue' is that he does sneeze more than any of my other cats; maybe 2-3 times a day. No discharge or anything, just a sneeze. I don't think it's related, but who knows

herpes can cause symtoms you describe as can a simple food allergy ... MY Zoey sneezes 2-3 times a day she is allergic to something but not highly

Vet check is in order

Hmm.. I have a feeling if I take him to my vet with these symptoms, they'll put him on that Metronidizal (sp?) stuff and want to see if that helps. That's what they did before when my other cat was having similar symptoms (minus the sneezing occassionally).

I don't mind taking him to the vet though, so maybe I'll schedule an appointment.

If you figure out what is causing this please let me know because I have a ragdoll kitten with the same symptoms (loose stool and sneezing). The vet said the two things aren't related and he has been put on every trial of antibiotic they could think of (for worms/parasites). no improvement noted and no worms or parasites ever detected.
I'm wondering if these symptoms are specific to ragdoll breed.
