Just wanted to update ya'll.

We decided to upgrade from trial to full accounts, and we bought the Burning Crusade expansion...I now have a level 11 Night Elf hunter. I'm still learning a lot, though. My husband has a level 11 NE but I can't remember his class. We have been going to bed really late at night because we keep playing with some friends of ours who are really helping us out with getting around, and all of that. I need to eventually figure out a profession, but am not really sure what to do yet.

And I plan on having a pet, but I won't be able to get to that until this evening.

For a hunter go with skinning + leatherworking and upgrade to dragonscale, or go (the better choice) Mining + Engineering (and use guns as you can at least make your own weapons/ammo with Engineering).

Other, slightly less useful hunter profs are herb/alch, or mining/jewelcrafting.

Personally, I would go engineering and mining if I were of a mind to re-level a prof.
Leatherworking is great, but there is a pretty big gap between useful hunter items that you can make.

I used to play wow but I got tired of it and all the PvP stuff that happened so I shifted to another MMORPG and it is now sucking up most of my live...lol.

I play Final Fantasy XI right now and it beats the pants off of WoW because their is limited PvP and the people are a whole lot nicer and more willing to help out complete strangers. I just got my girlfriend into it and I think she is more addicted than I am, though she won't admit it. The last two nights she has stayed up until 5 AM playing and yesterday she started playing at like 9 AM so thats 20 hours of playing with only a few breaks(to make food and she did exercise for an hour). It is really fun to play with someone you know and even love because it takes the repetitiveness of leveling out of it a little if you have someone to bug.

But can't I only have two primary professions? I mean, I can see having only the one until I can buy the mount at level 40, but don't see how it would benefit me to learn something else then have to unlearn later.

Or am I still confused about this whole thing? lol

Yea 2 primary, all the professions are easy to level, until you get to around 200 or so.

anyway that is how i did it, until i got a mount.theni would change.
But the only 2 professions i have maxed out is
blacksmith-which for the most part is worthless, there is only a few items that sale.
eng- which is fun.

dont forget to learn fishing and first aid also .

if you going to be a hunter fishing is good to have.

You can only have two professions at one time. You can have any combination of two at any time, and can drop one and pick up a different one if you change your mind later.

Once you reach the top levels, it is very, very easy to make money, so you don't have to consider it a "waste" if you end up dropping one profession and picking up a different one. You will easily remake the money you may have wasted later on.

Theimp's suggestion of choosing two gathering professions (mining, skinning, herbalism) until you get your mount is sound. It is difficult to raise money at lower levels, and questing is much faster now than it used to be, which makes it even harder now to get the money for your mount by the time you reach level forty. But mining, skinning, and herbalism are great ways to make money because you can sell the loot you gather at the auction house for extra gold.

My level 70 is a hunter, and I am an enchanter because... I can be.

Also, Purr Power is cute, but it doesn't have the same "OMG FUNNY" level of "I'd Mana Tap That," "Your Mom's My Epic Mount," and "Oops, I Crit My Pants."

It was really big around here, but I think it's died out a bit.

see i dont find those funny, just a example of how blue's is slipping on what they allow.

Since, my friends son, made a statement
"that is gay" about a bad event in game... he got a 7 day ban from the game.

My husband and I have a similar sense of humor and we both think those are really funny. I guess it is a taste thing, too.
We spend most of our time playing with people ages 20-30, mature enough to get the humor. We mock, rib, jibe, and otherwise make thorough fun of each other, in quite mean ways really... but none of us really mean it. There are unspoken contests (mostly of manliness) about who can make the crudest, funniest, meanest jokes.

Some of them are a little much to me, but mostly... I admit I think they are funny...

the southpark wow episode is really funny and shows what can happen IF you spend too much time on the game... it scared me.
Yeah, my boyfriend was on the path, aside from the obese/grossness thing.. His horrible roommate on the other hand is the epitome of the south park depiction of WoW. It's really pathetic. Ugh. *shudder* I'm glad he got out of it!

I don't even know what WoW is
But I do know I've 'lost' several old bf's to couterstrike and despise that game!

I'm not sayin gamers or the games are bad, but if your SO isnt into them, give it a break once in a while. My fiance is totally respectful bout not playin Wii games much around me cause it drives me crazy! FYI, I love Paper Mario on the Wii

I've decided to take a break from WoW, our guild has been stressing me out and I can't just leave it as it's full of RL friends. I was thinking about trying Final Fantasy 11 as I've always been a fan of the FF games, I wanted to play that instead of WoW from the beginning but my ex wouldn't subscribe to both games (he played WoW only) and I guess it's a good job he didn't because I met my partner on there!

So has anyone played FF 11 and is it any good? Need info!!

I cant stand listening to the people at work talk about WoW ... they complain about the "little nerds sitting there attacking" (using a "whiny teen voice"), and then one guy even said he wants to take an entire week off of work just to play constantly in order to build up strength or something like that.

The only type of game I play online is Ikariam, which is a fun little game that can get sort of addicting, but you also have to wait between "upgrades" to your town, instead of going bat crazy with it 24/7.

So... curious... out of the hunters out there... what is your fave pet?

My night Elf has a Turtle named Torti. I got it at lvl 25 in an instance. Black fathom something... I think.

I also have a Pink flamingo looking thing, and a ravager named Scarab on my horde toon

My dwarf (who looks just like me) has a black wolf and a purple tallstrider, I like the tallstrider's screams when they attack.
I've named him Sabod (acronym for Screaming Angry Bird Of Death)

My Draenei hunter has the red lynx (from Eversong Woods) and a black Hyena, I love the lynx best on her.

Overall, I tend to prefer the DPS and all purpose pets over the tanks.

Yes I play it all the time and its great!!!. I just started playing with my girlfriend and I got her addicted now...almost to the point where she isn't sleeping anymore. Anyway its really fun once you get past the first few levels and if you get into a linkshell(guild) it gets even better because you will have people to talk to. Their are a few sites that will help you get started, pm me if you want links or if you have any more questions.
