Is feline pine the same as wood pellets?

I was reading a thread on litter, and someone mentioned wood pellets, which I never heard of before, and then someone else started talking about feline pine. Are they the same except wood pellets don't smell like the pine? Is this the stuff that gets fuzzy after the cats urinate on it? I think I worked with it when I volunteered at petsmart to clean cages, and it is impossible to get that stuff out without dumping the whole tray, thus wasting a lot.
Can someone make it clearer? Might want to change from the chicken feed, but not if it is the fuzzy stuff. I must have my clumps.

Feline Pine disintegrates (becomes "fuzzy stuff") when urinated in.

Wood pellets are essentially the same thing, just cheaper.

You can make a sifting litter box to help the 'fuzzy stuff' sift to the bottom and keep the pellets in the top - this thread has instructions: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/sho...ht=feline+pine

It didn't work out in my house because my 4 cats are all seniors and they pee a LOT, so they would get more urine in the bottom of the box than the pellets could absorb. It would probably work fine for cats with normal urine output.

Or, you can just get 2 buckets and scoop out the pellets, sifting the sawdust into one bucket and pouring the unused pellets into the other bucket, until you have sifted out the used litter. Then you can wash the box & pour the unused pellets back in. This is the method I've resorted to now.

The sawdust can be used as mulch or thrown away.

I've never been able to find wood stove pellets here - it doesn't get very cold in the winter so perhaps no one here uses wood stoves?
