I typed out a nice message a few days ago but closed my browser before I was able to post it, so I am just now getting around to typing out a new one

My name is Craig and I am the proud new owner of a DSH Spayed Female cat named Twitch. She's two years old and is a mixed black cat. I've been wanting a cat of my own for many years and since I've lived in other people's apartments, I haven't had the chance until now.

I went to the local shelter last week (The Denver Dumb Friend's League) and found Twitch. She was a little shy in the cage, but when they brought her into the "meeting room", she eventually came over to me and started rubbing my legs with her face. I knew it was a match.

Brought my baby home and she decided to hide for awhile but came out after an hour or so and she has been the sweetest, most affectionate cat I could ever hope for. Unfortunately she has had an upper respiratory infection since I've had her, so I've been trying to nurture her back to health. She was quite playful this morning for the first time and she's eating a little more, so I think that's a good sign. I'm sure she's getting as sick as I am giving her antibiotics. Heh

Another interesting note about Twitch. I looked at her papers before I took her into the vet this past weekend and noticed we have the exact same birth date! It was totally meant to be.

Anyway, this is long enough. This place seems great and I look forward to being a part of the community.

It's so kind of you to adopt Twitch.

Has she been on antibiotics for the URI? That is a very common problem in shelters.

Thanks for the kind words and greetings! It's been an exciting week with Twitch. It has also bummed me out a little bit with her being sick. Yes, she is on anti-biotics (4th day) and I think she's getting better. Each day seems to bring a new level of energy, although she still wants nothing to do with treats, toys, or anything else except sleeping and cuddling.

Really looking forward to a healthy girl. Thanks again and hope to see everyone around.

What a cute cute kittie! My kitty was sick like that too when we adopted her, and she is just fine now. Some good food, meds, and love is just what your kittie needed. Welcome to TCS

Both the cats we have we got from the shelter, and both had the URI. It took about a week of antibiotics before they really felt normal and started to show their full personality.

Some cats are vigorous players, and some just aren't. Some are cuddlers, and some aren't. And how you treat them can affect both. Just being alive, warm, well-fed, and loved will have a great affect on Twitch.

By the way, Denver is my home town.

Seems like every day keeps getting better. Yesterday a number of firsts happened! She used her scratching pad for the first time, wanted to play with a mouse made of rope, and eating a lot better (almost too well), and even this morning she woke me up by playing with my feet in bed. heh

Thanks for the words and it looks like each day is better than the last! Even the litter box is becoming "normal" yay!

Congratulations Craig, on your new family member.

She is a black beauty.

Sending vibes that she continues to feel better and that the two of you become as close a peas in a pod.

See you and Twitch around the site.

Well it has been over two weeks now and Twitch is apparently feeling pretty well. She has more interest in toys and things around the house than she ever did, and she has become quite playful and active as well! She's a great cat.

Thanks again for the welcome.
