No-scratch sprays?

Twinkie prefers to scratch my carpet despite scratching posts and pads all over the place. My living room alone has three scratching posts and five scratching pads. Yet he'll scratch at the carpet when there's a scratching pad right next him. I think he's smelling his scent on the places he's scratched before and so thinks it's OK to scratch there again. I place to clean the carpet when I get a chance, but for now, I'm wondering if anyone's found any of the various no-scratch spray products to be effective? Thanks....
