Well - that's fair enough I suppose!

But still, I know many, many, many Americans who feel the same way - based on their facts and the `stuff he has done'. Plus people he's been closely associated with and things that have happened both before and during his presidency.

Nonetheless, this isn't a thread about Bush vs Obama. My point merely was to say that there will always be people, everywhere, who really get riled up about politicians and they will have who they like and who they don't regardless.

That's why I started this thread - would people's dislike of a candidate get to the point where they would vote against their own party to satisfy that dislike?

Why? Why would I not be considered American if I vote for Obama?

I thought the old tired argument if you don't agree with me you are not a true american was over.

Frankly I would vote for Obama over McCain despite my concerns over Obama's inexperience. I know McCain is being touted as a moderate but come on. He is running for the Republican party, the one that gave us eight years of GW Bush. I don't believe he will stray to far from party lines once push comes to shove. To me they are masters of manipulation and right now I don't trust or believe the Republican Party at all.

And I am a born and bred true blue American.

Guilt by association? I don't think that's a box you want to open, Bruce, unless you are willing to have plenty of scrutiny and uncomfortable truths leveled at your own candidate (or president).

What exactly is the party line these days? Neither party can agree on much of anything as a whole and both of them have deep divisions among their own ranks?
