just ask Eileen what my bathroom looks like
I have enough shower gell, lotion and body spray to last until I'm 90

I used to sell avon and got at least 50% off, all my profits went towards buying myself stuff
I was thinknig about selling it our garage sale next month, but I don't know if i can part with it!!

I definitely have a good bit of stuff- but i do use it all so it's ok
I only buy shower gel/lotions/sprays etc two times a year when some of my favorite stores put on their semi-annual sales- (Bath and Body Works and Victorias Secret!) so i stock up during that time because its cheaper and i just use it throughout the year. Sometimes I buy extras to save and give away as birthday presents/etc.
So even though my cabinent has a lot in it- it will get used normally, if i decide i don't want something- i give it to my sister or niece.

Now when it comes to bath stuff from Lush like bath bombs, bubble bars, etc- omg i go nuts in that store!....yea, i have issues
i'm a Lush addict! www.lush.com

I used to. I hate waste, so I can't stand to throw out stuff like that. So a couple years ago I started a new policy for myself. I was going to use up all of the bottles of shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, lotions, masks, toners, peels etc. that I had before I bought anything new. And I've stucked to that.

In fact I'm still working my way through some things.

Oh my goodness I use to be the worse for this. When I moved 3 years ago into my loft I realized at one point I was packing expired toiletries and things I hadn't used in years..
It was at that point I throw tons of stuff out..
Now I generally only buy soap, body gel, shampoo when I I need some. I will try new brands but mostly stick to ones I know I like. If I want to try something I can usually find a travel size to try first.
As far a cosmetics as I have gotten older I have begun using less so again I only buy when I need to replace.

Not to mention those nearly used up blushers, eye shadows, foundations, etc., that should have been tossed once replacements had been bought. Why did I hold on to some replacement brushes for an electric tooth brush that gave up its ghost at least two years ago?

I filled up an entire trash bag, and can actually open the doors without stuff falling out now. Tell me I'm not the only one!
I was just looking in our bathroom closet and thinking it could use a good clean. There's stuff in there that DH has had since he lived with his last gf. Yes, it moved twice to be with us now and yes, it will get tossed when I do clean.

That my rational too. Which is why I have half a dozen mostly empty shampoo & conditioner bottles. Ya know, all you have to do is add some water and give it a shake and you've got another 3-4 good washes.

I do that when I order Mary Kay but it's all so expensive that I don't have hoards of it.

Wow... are you sure you don't moonlight as a Bath & Body Works retailer?!

I keep having to tell family and friends NOT to buy me scented lotions and stuff for holidays.

hey. mine's actually worse - 'cause i have stuff stacked on top of other stuff - & there's no room left! [hair stuff, mostly - you'd think, from the amount of stuff i have, that i had really
hair. it's really pretty good hair - but is very fine & super straight. i have lots of 'body building' products, most've which didn't work, or i disliked the scent, etc.]

i'll take a pic tonight for y'all!

That is exactly like me.
I'm also using up all my old stuff and it's taking forever, but I'm finally at the point where I need some new hand/body lotion. I'm buying just ONE bottle of it though!!!!

OMG! Now I don't feel too bad.

The thing is, I don't just do it at home. When we go to Hungary, I take unopened bottles of shower gel, shampoo, hair gel, etc., etc., and then leave them there because I'm afraid they'll leak in our luggage. The next time we go, I don't remember what I left there, or know whether somebody else, e.g., Erik (nephew) or his friends, the in-laws, has used it up, so I take more.

I do the same thing when I stay at my mom's. I leave stuff there because I don't want it to leak on the flight back, and then nobody uses it up because they don't understand the German labels.

There seems to be far too much body lotion, hair products ( not much use for me at the moment
) and bath things in my bathroom.

That actually looks better than mine. My linen closet looks like a Jenga game...stuff piled on top of stuff. Some day it'll all collapse.

Want me to send my husband over, Laureen? He loves to throw things out! The more I see/read here, the better I feel!

I guess I'm lucky that our bathroom is so small, and we have no built-in closets! (Don't ask for photos of our bookshelves, please!)

I've got our entire third floor/attic filled with books, and hubby tries to limit me to 1,000 books in the house before he starts ditching them. I've seriously got four rooms stuffed with books from floor to ceiling (apart from the attic).
