that would make things easier, i agree. i do this: i click on the username, request to see the public profile in a new tab, then highlight/copy the username from the public profile, then go to the shop menu & buy gifts, then paste the username in the correct slot.

Actually I am doing just that on the blog! I have a cat in the spotlight, at least twice a week. Sometimes it's along with a post about something else, and sometimes it's the entire post. Here's a link to the category -

1) Fix the display of special characters. Special characters in the gifts "balloon text" show up as html special characters. Example: I send a message from A & B. The message shows up as A &amp ; B

2) For the ribbons, display the user message in the balloon text instead of the standard message text.
I'll definitely let Danny know. If he can hack his way through the VBPlaza code, it might be time to streamline a few things.

Will ask Danny about that as well.

Yup! We're going to add blogs to the forums as well! With members having the ability to run their own kitty blogs!

Will ask Danny about that too.

More ideas are welcome!

Just 2 humble suggestions....

1.- many other background colours would be fantastic, the usual are Ok but It would be great every time in time to find new colours....
....

2.- May I suggest a forum called,..."In your MeOW_N Language" In this forum all people who want to talk in their own Idiom with other members can do it....

I've always wished for some other choices, too... and when we talked about this last fall, I threw together some color samples that might come in handy. They're in this thread:

(I think my favorite would be Lakeside!
)

I never thought of doing it that way...thanks for the suggestion! Hey, I didn't even realize we could change the color schemes until a few months ago!

I think a Wiki is a wonderful idea. I proposed a forum library on another cat board and they weren't too interested in it, so if you can archive posts and threads that contain useful cat info and advice in an organized manner, I think that would give this site a real nice content bonus, and a useful knowledgebank for members' reference.

I suggest you start circulating the idea among your more senior and more active members, members with good memories who can recollect some of the more significant threads to form the core knowledgebank of the wiki, then you'll already have content when you open the new section. And additional content could be provided by knowledgeable members who submit articles for inclusion in the wiki.

Yes, it's a wonderful idea.....go for it!!

Had another idea when I noticed I was frequently scrolling back to the top of the page: if the toolbar could also be placed at the bottom of the page, one could access the thread tools without having to scroll back to the top.

You have seen the "Top" button in the bottom right-hand corner, haven't you? That saves you from scrolling back.

It took me ages to discover it - most people don't scroll to the very bottom of the page (no real reason to, most of the time). It doesn't show up when I'm using my PDA to access TCS, and that's really been bugging me.

No, it doesn't, because I have to scroll DOWN to get to the "top" button. It's located way down below everything else. Perhaps it's more handy for members who can turn off the ads, but not for the rest of us. Sorry, I still think it's a good suggestion. phpBB3 actually has a "top" button embedded in each and every post!!

Understood! I don't have ads turned on, so it's probably much easier for me to scroll down when using my notebook. It might still be quicker than scrolling up, though.
