Why is it that when you go to totatly clean the litter box, even before you can finish putting in the litter, the cat's want to use it,even if they just went?

LOL!! Pepper does this ALL the time! I think it's hysterical. Never fails, every time I clean the box he's there supervising, and as soon as I'm done in he goes to make it his again!

Trent went through a phase like that at the last apartment. He could be in a DEAD SLEEP and he would hear me scoop and come running. I finally convinced him to wait until I had finished scooping one box and then use it. For a while it was a game to go WHILE I was scooping the box!

Ah, Socks doesn't do that. But her most used litterbox is in my bedroom, and she must save her stinkys to do until JUST after I shut off the light to go to bed. Ergh. And then she has to come and hop up on the bed getting litter on my pillow. And then she has to bite my nose.

She's rather misbehaved, but she's my darlin' and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Mine do that all the time, Taz will even use it before I set the clean box down by just leaping up into it. No smell, fresh litter, they love that.

LOL! Lazlo always runs over to watch the scooping - but Shelly always has to use the box just after I put the scoop away... even if I sit there and wait with the scoop out. He won't go. Then as soon as I "give in" and put it away - there he is, in the box!

I thought I was the only one who got tortured with the stinkys in the bedroom! Every single night with in minutes of me climbing into bed, Echo gets in her litter box and practically digs to China...after 10 minutes of just scratching she finally poops and gets it over with! That little girl can stink up that entire room too...and I can't even escape!! I just tuck my head under the covers for a few minutes until I can breathe again!
Ok...I'm exagerating a bit..but at times she is pretty stinky!

Movin' on up!
When I change out the boxes, Rowdy will jump in and pee, before I can put the clean litter in.

I have two litter boxes - one open and one covered. Do you think that she will poop in the covered one? Noooooo! She waits until I am in the laundry room and proceeds to dump her load and make my eyes water.

Ivo at least waits until I've taken out the old litter and liner, put in a new liner and new litter. But, within 10 minutes she's in the box doing her business. I think she likes to mark it as her own (even though I'm not fighting with her for the litter box!)

litterbox in the bedroom??:confused2 :confused3
Is that such a great idea? I guess there's absolutely no other place for it?

Roo has jumped into the box directly after I have cleaned it and had such a choking fit that we had to shove his face out the window in order for him to get fresh air. He doesn't go near the litterbox anymore while I'm cleaning it, and Tigger is too shy to be anywhere near while I'm cleaning it.

Yeh, it's the only place for it. She has one in the basement, but she won't go down to the basement (lazy cat!)... so the one in my closet is most used. My parents told me if I wanted a cat I had to take the litter box... so it's worth it, even if she reeks sometimes...

CUTE!

Yeah. Jude is the one who waits for me to clear out the litter box then he jumps into the litter and either pees or poops in front of me. :ugh: sometimes i am cleaning while he comes in and pees right there. I told Jude that i am not done. Why didn't he done it right before i clean. ha

Tavish usually sits and wait for me to finish it then i get out of the room in the basement then he comes in.

I am still living with my folks, so I don't have many options since this isn't my own place. But...my bedroom is upstairs which is the entire attic/loft. It is a as big as the entire house only with out any walls or rooms. It's just one great big room. So, I've split up the room into the bed area, the lounging area and of course the closet area. With 3 cats, we HAVE to have lots of litter boxes (especially since Miss Tiki LaRue is so darn picky!
). I've got 4 litter boxes upstairs...I swear it does not stink! I'm constantly scooping out their boxes and changing the litter. Anyway, on the north side of the room one box is at the top of the stairs, another box is on the other side of the stairs...then I've got 2 on the opposite side of the room (which happens to be in the bed area). It seems to work out great for us even though there's lots of litter boxes around. Oh...I also have one box downstairs in a spare bedroom (aka the cats lounging room) and one box in the basement. It never fails those sneaky kitties will run down stairs and hide...and I don't want to find little puddles or mounds down there! Ewww!
Just thought I'd share this all with ya...don't want to think that I'm weird or anything. ok..everyone knows I'm weird, but humor me, ok? ha,ha,ha!
