I just had my cat's first lion cut for the summer. With his hair off his belly we get a really good view of what his skin is like and he looks really healthy, aside from being overweight.

The one thing we did notice was something akin to a skin plug (like if you feel something like a zit but just hardened smegma pops out, not like a whitehead) near/on his nipple. My husband was like hey whats this! So he picked at it and it came off. It si almost as if the nipple itself turned hardened and fell off. This has happened a few times now. It is smooth where it was and where we feel a nipple should be.

Is this somethign that is known? i found a few threads on a few other sites about it and vets had told patients to not worry that its normal in older cats. Tenchi is only 5 but im worried for him. Should I see a vet or is there a common term for this?

Albus's nipples seem a little crusty, too. Not so much "crusty", more like the skin is dry and they're a little rough. Normal? He's only about 4 1/2. He doesn't seem to notice them.
