We have been fostering some bottle babies from work & have a large box set up for them here with a small sleeping box & an appropriate litter box..
As small as thay are, they are actually using the litterbox already, the problem is that they also like to sleep in it! It's been difficult to keep them out of it, they will often do their business & then sit or lay down right there afterwards. I try to keep them clean but can't always be right there all of the time. We've tried to sit there & keep taking them away everytime they go to lay down in there but it doesn't work. I've tried taking the box out for awhile but that didn't work, they just tinkle on the paper.
I figured that this might be a problem others have had, since Tucker used to like to do that when he was little also, but he was an older kitten.
Should I just leave them to their stinky habit & not worry so much about it in hopes that they will grow out of it or can someone help with a suggestion? We would be thankful!

Offer another similar sized box nearby and put lots of comfy bedding, toys and treats in it and see if they will sleep there instead.

Ok, I'll try that-I can get the exact same style box from work tomorrow. Not sure about the treats, though because they are bottle babies, but the toys are no problem.
