I took Chynna outside today, unfortunately I forgot the camera upstairs!

I think she enjoyed it. I didn't take her in the carrier. Instead I had her harness and leash (purse strap and a dog leash) on and I carried her. She let out a loud howl in the hallway by the elevator because she wasn't sure what was going on. When I got outside I put her on the ground by the bench and she went under it and hid,

So I picked her up and took to the sunny grassy part. she proceeded to lay on her tummy, absolutely flat, and stayed like that for probably 10 minutes and then she sort of took a couple steps but she was still really low to the ground. She managed to slowly creep about 6 feet to the edge of the plant garden and sat there,

She kept trying to get through the small wire fencing they have surrounding it, but I didn't let her go in because I wasn't sure what her motive was IE: litter box or digging. She slowly walked up the length of it (8 feet or so), and part way back again and sat there.

I was getting light headed from the sun and my back was sore from standing, so I had to come inside. Unfortunately the bench isn't near the grassy part: it's on gravel and near the plant beds.

I think she enjoyed it. she didn't chase any bugs or anything. She tried to chomp on some tall grass but without any teeth that's kind of hard to do.

It was her first time out since probably 1994 before I moved from the place where she found me. So it's been a long time. She's been in the carrier to go to the vets, but not actually outside outside.

When I moved here, I had tried taking her out to the park across the street, but she just sat inside her carrier and wouldn't come out, so I stopped taking her.

Now that she's older and nearly deaf, the sound of the cars nearby don't bother her.

Now she's tuckered out and laying on the floor looking all cute and relaxed ready for a nap

If it's nice tomorrow I'll take her out again and this time take my camera and get a couple of pictures. She might do better tomorrow since had a trial run today, hehe

I'd love to take Abby out, but I'd be shredded and I like my skin to much. She's way too timid for me to even attempt such a feat!

aww glad your girl got to get a little sunshine and fresh air with her momma

I take my kitties outside all the time on their harness/leash in the backyard. Velvet and Jasmine love it. Kojak is learning to like it and Isabella just "meep meeps" the whole time
Velvet walks on her leash better than most dogs though- she's my old girl and i started her on her harness/leash when she was a kitten- so she LOVES outside time

I made the decision when I got Blossom that she would be an inside only cat. But, oh sometimes takes her out in his arms & holds her while she's on the grass. She loves to eat it. She would never attempt to go out the door when it was open, but now she's wanting to go out. Yesterday he put her on the back steps & she went into raptures, rolling over & over on the warm concrete. I have to make sure she doesn't get out by herself because I don't think she would know where she is. When he 1st started taking her out she would rush back inside.
I'm grad your kitty enjoyed her time outside. I don't think I could put a harness on Blossom, she used to freak out whenever I put a collar on her.

Sounds like Chynna had a good time
Mine love going out, they get a bit tangled up when they decide to play chase though

If you use a small dog harness she might be okay, they sit in a V down the chest not around the neck. That's what mine all wear, from PetStock.

Chynna didn't mind the harness at all. In fact I don't even think she noticed it.

She is a small cat (she lost a lot of weight), but I bought a large cat harness. I made sure that it was really loose. In fact it moves around from side to side on it's own. But it can't slip off because one loop is around her neck and the other behind her front legs. So it is there for safety without being restrictive to her. Plus I'm out there with her so I'm not concerned about it getting caught on anything.

She's been sitting by the front door quite a bit this evening. So I think she really liked it and wants to go back out. She's such a cutie!
