There isn't much on TV tonight and I can't afford to rent a VOD movie, so I'm watching something called "The Haunting of Sorority Row", or was.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1110048/

I'm not really sitting just watching it. I'm mostly listening to it and occasionally turning around to see what is happening... like I watch most things on TV these days

However, I just turned the channel. There was a scene where one of the girls was in the shower with the bathroom door locked. I don't really know what was happening because like I said I am not paying that close attention. But I suddenly hear her screeching and screaming, and some other girl in the hallway banging on the door yelling and screaming asking if she was ok. It was 2 girls with high pitched voices having a screech fest with each other.

Completely annoying enough for me to turn the channel

I can't stand movies where there are hysterical women just screaming and screaming.

The worst ones are the ones with women in labor who are screaming terribly!! Ive been through labor 3 times and have had a couple DNC's so I know it doesn't hurt that darn bad!! Watching those when I was pregnant scared me so bad of labor!! I hate listening to woman with high pitched voices scream!! The squeeling is just dreadfull!! Hurts your head!

Which is why I could never work in Labour and Delivery because I'd more than likely smack the woman upside the head and yell back that she got herself into this situation and to suck it up and shut the heck up!

I always wonder why in those stupid horror movies, people stand there and scream instead of using all that energy to run like he**. If something with an axe were after me, you wouldn't see anything but a short, round blur!

Because the director's production budget didn't cover a gyrocam on a dolly to follow the actor with.

I'm totally into escapism when it comes to movies and TV. I don't watch anything that throws current events and the woes of the world in my face. That's why I watch more comedy than anything.

Classic Red Skelton anyone?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, sorry just could not help myself.

Back to the topic, I have a really hard time with that as well. When we went to Disneyland and we were in the haunted mansion, I wanted to slap a lot of the teenage girls in there cause they were just screaming to scream. Oh it was SO annoying! My ears were ringing for about an hour after getting out of there it was that bad. I just don't get it.

Oh, I HATE hearing that on tv.. I'll be in the other room, and all of a sudden I hear this loud, screechy screaming that lasts for like, five minutes.. after about five seconds, I'm about ready to go throw something at the tv.. or whoever has the annoying show on.

Amen! Throw in some Frances the Talking Mule or Lewis and Martin and I'd be happy!

I love comedies, those cheesy old beach movies, and B movies. The b&w Tarzan movies are great, too.
I don't want to watch, horror, world domination,(unless they of the comic book variety) outbreaks of deadly diseases. I could turn on the news and see that.

You should look at this website: http://www.hulu.com/

Free tv, usually a week after it airs, but it has a lot of series that have been cancelled like Arrested Development. It also has movies, some of them pretty good. You don't even have to give them an email address.

If you can tolerate 5- or 15- second commercials every now and then, it's pretty awesome. And perfect for when there's nothing on real tv.
