And now we have Google. Hes about 7 weeks old. We've had him for a week or so and he has been doing great with his litter box. But last night he was on my room mates bed and peed on it. I think he might have been playing too hard on that one and just didnt realize he needed to go until it was too late to make it downstairs. We do have a little box upstairs but he cant get in it yet, its a bit too big for him still. But then this morning he peed on the bed again. Any ideas on how to help this? I havent had to litter box train a cat in a long time...

Firefox had a bit of difficulty getting used to a litterbox, too. she'd poop there, but pee on the bathroom floor [i wouldn't let her have free range of the house until i knew she was trained!]. i got some of the KittenAttract litter & it worked like a charm!

I agree, try KittenAttract litter - Turtle had a lot of problems with going in the wrong place until we tried that and it worked wonderfully.

Oh, and try stacking a phone book or two in step style by the litter box that's too big.

thanks guys! I will probably go get some cat attract tomorrow I have to go to petsmart anyways!

Now to only get our other 3 to stop hating the poor guy!

I would keep him locked up until he was complete trained but its really hard to do in our apartment. Only 3 rooms have doors and thats the 2 bathrooms one is really small its only a half, and then the other bathroom is where the big litter box is so when hes in that bathroom locked up the litter box is sitting in the living room floor. And then the other room is my bed room which is Joey and Kahluas hideout so that wont work. Oh well! I'm sure they will all be fine together soon!

Try putting some of the soiled litter from the other litter box in the one upstairs to help kitten figure it out. Also, if the box is too big for him, maybe get something to use instead til it is the right size.

It doesn't sound like this kitten has a behavioral or litterbox problem. It happened because you didn't provide a small, kitten-sized litterbox on every floor.

You have to make a low-sided litterbox accessible to him at all times, on each floor. I'm sure the problem will disappear. But make sure to wash the area he peed on very well, laundering the sheets and also, if it reached the mattress, soaking the area with Nature's Miracle.
