What is Jack?

He weighs about 40 lbs (goes to the vet this AM, so I'll weigh him them).

Perhaps knee high.

Stocky build, cropped tail.

....has a thing for playing like a fool in the long grass....

The first thing I thought was "Ridgeback mix" but he could also be a Rottie-German Shepherd mix. He's definitely got Rottie in him, I think; the source of the color is debatable, lol. He's gorgeous

he looks like a really stocky, dark-colored, stubby tailed "Puggle"
so maybe not so much like a Puggle, but that's what his face looks like
he sure is a cutie!!

Have to agree with the Boxer.. but not so much with Rott/Shep (they have one at the shelter and he looks nothing like it)...
maybe a freakish mix of Boxer/Pug (hey, they have Lab/Dachshund.. and thats weird enough
)... he is very Handsome though!!!

Look at his teeth Natalie- how old do you think he is? If he's still young and has some growing to do i'd side more so with a Boxer / Rodesian Ridgeback mix. (It is possible to have a Rodesian Ridgebacks without the ridges - especially so if the dog is a mix). Whatever he is he sure is cute!

Nikki, he's defiantely full grown, about 2 years old.

THANK YOU ALL WHO AGREED WITH PUGGLE!
I wanted to label him on the internet as Puggle, but no one would let me because at 45#s, it really isn't feasible.

I've toyed with:
Puggle
Boxer/Beagle
Boxer/Rott
Rott/Beagle
Am staff/Pit/Beagle
Am staff/pit/Rott

Oooh.. maybe Boxer/Puggle... its possible that mom was Boxer and dad was a Puggle (or vise versa)... So I say a Boxer/Pug/Beagle mix!

Hes to small to be Am Staff or Rott.

I'd toy with boxer/staffie
boxer/rott
I don't know, though.
Maybe he's just a regular heinz 57 like my Sandy is.
I.E.- a mutt.
Not that that's a bad thing.
They're fun cuz' they're unpredictable. XD
