It is 95 right now and should be 103 or 104 later today.
The last time it was over 100 in May for more then one day was 1987.
It has only happened six times since 1939.

Geez! We frequently hit that for multiple days in a row every single summer here
Last year at the end of July for about a week it was above 110 degrees every single day!

In Summer we always get this Hot. For some reason we are in a Summer Pattern. Even the Bay Area is in the 90's. We had the Extreme Heat 2 Years ago where it was over 111 for 2 weeks.

No. Not usually in May. Tho I do remember one year (the year Mount St. Helen's erupted), that we got really hot temperatures in May It was quite awful actuall!

DH and I were actually in Cabo San Lucas for that time 2 years ago but we heard about it from our daughter who was brother, pet and house sitting for us. I took her on a nice air-conditioned shopping trip.

I got out of my car at 2 pm PDT and the car thermometer read 98F. We went from right on track for rainfall and a high water content snow pack in the Sierras, to the driest Mar and Apr in a long time, to extreme heat this early and to almost certain water rationing because of the last 2 things.

We are now having our gardner clean out the brush to prevent fires, like we do every year. We have just a little lawn (it came with the house - I wouldn't have planted it) which we are going to let die because we are not watering it. I see an order of decorative rocks in the next 6 months.

Normally, I love to cook. Tonight we are getting take out.
in the SF Bay Area.

That's crazy for May, even in CA! I wouldn't mind if the weather was warmer here, but not that hot. We've had a couple of rainy, chilly days in the 50's in Cincy. I'm ready for sunny weather in the 70's!

I want to nap, but it's too hot. Upstairs in our townhouse is going to be stinking hot tonight!

Today and next three days we'll be breaking records up this way. Its 85F now, calling for 95F tomorrow and close to that Saturday. Thing is, we were rainy and 60F then all of a sudden .... someone turns on the oven!

Pretty sure that we broke all records here. Looks like tomorrow we will be in single digits tomorrow. Yeah, 99 is still single digits.

I think the very low humidity you guys have out there in CA helps make the conditions just a little more comfortable. When the temperature is 95 and the humidity is 85% it is extremely uncomfortable, and it can get that way in MN. And btw, the high here today will be about 75 degrees I think I'll keep it; I'm not interested in trading!

No more almost certain! EBMUD issued rather strict new guidelines yesterday evening about the new water rationing. I work for a property management company, so I got about 25 calls from them!

And I agree. When not doing take out, it's way too hot to cook, so we've been having very healthy dinners of salads and fruits!

My husband likes to rub in that *he* wanted to buy an AC instead of the new windows we got. I stick by our decision, but boy wouldn't an AC be nice!!
