Yummy!! I just discovered this tea. I never drank tea before but since I decided to change my lifestyle to lose weight I have replaced coffee with teas. I bought two kinds of Chai tea so I can taste the difference but I notice that it says I can make it with milk. When I get my Lattes (yes I know LOL not diet friendly) I found it was very creamy. Do I boil milk and use that to seep? Or do I just add a little bit of milk like with coffee?

Yes stupid question LOL but worth looking like a weirdo since this tea is absolutely delicious!!

If it is Oregon Chai which is a concentrate in a liquid form, then you add it to milk and warm it up. You can also use vanilla soy milk instead of cow milk...very yummy!!!

You can do it what ever way you want. Either add the milk to the tea like coffee or actually steep the bags in hot milk. It's really what ever your personal tastes are. I
the chai lattes and the Oregon Chai (liquid or powder) made with milk. They seem "thin" when made with water to me.

Oh I love Chia Teas. You would want to boil the milk just like what you do for a Latte. Yum! Enjoy!

We drink our Chai tea without milk. I got it at a comedy show one time in the lobby - it had milk in it, but not sure if they just put it in from a dispensor or what.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
I get my Oregon Chai in those vacuum cartons... Tazo also does that, but I don't like theirs. The instructions are that you do half tea, half milk. You can heat it if you wish, but I prefer cold, over ice if I have it. the half tea/half milk is also roughly how Starbucks and other places do it... you do less milk, but that's how it's done with milk... or at least that's what I've learned.

I much prefer OC to Tazo... Tazo is VERY spiced and now that I've had OC, I think it's over-spiced. OC/Oregon Chai is perfect.

OC also comes in bags.

I make my own chai, once you have the real thing, it's hard to go back to the boxes, although they are quick and easy. This will make your house smell so good when you're making it.

Chai:
3 cups water
3 inch cinnamon stick (hard or soft)
1 to 1 1/2 inch fresh ginger thinly sliced (doesn't have to be peeled)
10 black peppercorns
10 whole cloves
8-10 green cardamom, crushed (usually in health food stores or Indian stores)

Bring to rolling boil and then boil for 5 minutes, better yet, ten.

Add a rounded tablespoon of black tea or 3-4 tea bags, continue to boil for 3 to 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of milk and bring to boil. Sweetener can be added. (I use a bit of dark brown sugar).

Strain and serve really hot.

I have a foamer for milk and will use that to make a chai latte. It's best to use non fat milk, it foams better. Leave the milk out of the recipe and add the hot foamy milk to the cup.

Star anise, fennel seeds, bay leaf and vanilla can be used, play around and try different combos.
