Honey, congratulations!! I'm adopted, and I've often thought about trying to find my birth mother, but was always afraid to. I hope you and your birth dad have a good relationship, but don't neglect the people that raised you.

Always remember that 2 people can give birth to a baby BUT its the mom and dad who raise, love, care and guide you that are your real parents!

I'm adopted (never wanted to find the birth parents). My mom and dad are the ones that raised me - not the man and woman who made me

I am so happy for you! You now have someone in your life that you wanted to find and now you have even more family to love - aunties, uncles, cousins
It sounds like your mom is very understanding, too
Sending prayers and vibes that your papa who raised you is able to overcome his depression

He probably feels a bit jealous. He's been the father figure for a long time, and maybe he thinks he's being replaced? Try to not let it get you down. Maybe you can have a conversation with him about it?

I'm so happy for you! It gives me hope too, I've never met (or anything) my dad and always wonder if he'd even want to see me... I wish you two a very happy future

Pixie, as a parent myself, if you honestly love your adopted dad PLEASE DO NOT ABANDON HIM FOR YOUR BIO-DAD! Can you understand why is reaction is the way it is?

He raised you, loved you, cared for you. While it might be exciting to meet your bio-dad, the one who has been in your life up to now IS YOUR DAD! Remember that!

I was adopted as well and while I did once entertain the idea of finding my birth mother I think I'm past it. Maybe if I ever become a lawyer and have my own resources to do so... but for now I love my family as is.

I'm so happy for you too!!! What a wonderful thing!

I do agree that you should keep in mind how your dad feels and have a good talk with him. Let him know that he's your dad and you will never forget that. You just need to meet your blood family.
