I think my cat may have a FLUTD issue, though I'm posting on here because I'm wondering if it's possible the problem could've cleared up itself... Sonny is about 6 years old, he's been neutered, and is allowed to go outdoors, though he usually only goes outside to relieve himself... The other day I noticed he was sleeping under a chair outside, which is unusual because he never sleeps outside, and there was a pool of watery, bloody liquid underneath him. I quickly took him inside and washed him off, but no blood washed off, so I think he urinated it. Anyway, that evening he had no appetite, and was VERY lethargic. I kept him on my bed that night, with some food and water, and he would drink water... After a couple hours, he started eating food again... Anyway, Sonny slept in my bed that night, and I noticed in the morning parts of my bed were wet, including on top of me, and smelled intensely like ammonia. I haven't had that same prob since (2 days later), & he has an appetite again, but he has a weird meow and follows me around a lot... Should Sonny go to a vet? I only ask because it seems most of the symptoms are gone, with the exception of excessive licking of the genitalia, so I'm not sure if Sonny still needs to go to a vet. If he still seemed very symptomatic I would just take him...

He needs to see a Vet. I have a Cat that keeps getting Infections. He might need Antibiotics. My Cat has everytime. Males can get blocked and die. I lost my Frisky to a Male Blockage at age 1.

I would take him to the vet to get checked out. It does sound like it could be a uti, excessive licking of the genitalia is a symptom of it. I just lost my young cat due to a uti, he had a blockage which they couldn't unblock, so I would definitely take your cat to the vet. Good Luck.

Thank you for your advice, I wasn't sure but now that I know it could still be serious, I'll take him first thing in the morning. I really appreciate it.... I've been really worried about him :S
