Scary/funny story

I'm paying for my hotel room for canada with my credit card and i've also been buying gifts for my girls birthday on there along with some other stuff so I wanted to make sure I still had enough credit on my card to cover the cost of the room. So I called the 1-800 number on the back of my card and after going though 5 different menues finally got to talk to a human and asked for my account balance and she told me 7 hundered and something...I thought that meant that i only had 700 left on the account. That scared me because the room is going to be twice that. And I was trying to figure out how the heck I spent that much money on my card. Well after looking online I only spent 700 and still have pleanty left...the people on the phone should be more clear on that kind of stuff.

ouch, What is really scary is when you are out of the country,
go to pay something, and they tell you that you are out of funds!!!!!

i had to hide from the hotel people for 2 days until i was able to call my bank back in the states.

yeah, what they call a 'balance' is what you owe. next time, ask how much available credit there is... or check online [which i MUCH prefer]. it's far easier than going thru all of those irritating menu options!

Yeah I ended up getting online and seeing what I had left. My heart still hasn't come back into my chest but thankfully its not in my feet anymore.
