In searching out a good price for Frontline Plus for my 2 cats, I came across a listing on Amazon. This is what they say about it:

This kit for cats comes with 1 extra large pipette of Frontline Plus originally manufactured for dogs. Frontline Plus for dogs and cats is almost exactly the same formulation. They both contain 9.8% fipronil, the medication that kills fleas. Both formulations contain (s)-methoprene, the medication that sterilizes the fleas, ticks, and larva. The difference is that the dog formulation contains 8.8% and the cat formulation contains 11.8% of the (s)-methoprene. This 3% difference will not affect the flea killing properties of the medication and in no way will it harm your cat. The extra large pipette of Frontline Plus contains 4.02 ml of Frontline plus medication. Your cat requires 0.5 ml of medication each month so the 4.02 ml pipette supplied with our kit contains 8 months of flea and tick treatment for your cat.

Is this safe to use with my cats? The price is wonderful, but I don't want to give my cats anything harmful just to save money.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I believe I've read that Frontline PLUS was for dogs only. Please call your vet before applying any flea treatment you buy over-the-counter or on the internet.
