Hello,

A couple years ago I fed Whiskas to Stanley thinking he would be okay... boy was I wrong! He had an allergic reaction to it and by the end of it the backs of his ears down to the bottom of his neck was bare. I had taken him to the vet and she gave me some ointment and pills. Since then I've been very careful about what I feed him.

Lately, I have had a friend stay with me and she bought Stanley some treats. I am not sure how much she fed him because I had to work during the day. But I have noticed that by his right foreleg when he's grooming he seems to be pulling on his skin, which results in pulling out some hair. I try and stop him whenever I see him doing that and the treats are no longer being given to him because I am thinking maybe this is the same thing? I have been keeping an eye on him and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse and as soon as I noticed the behaviour I stopped the treats.

What do you think? Should I take him to the vet or just keep an eye on him for a couple days to see what happens? I am thinking if it's just an allergic reaction to the treats then he should be fine soon since I stopped them right?

Any help/advice would be great! Thank you!

Hey Kiki

I'm interested to know if Stanley has had a recent shot like a rabies shot on that day or a couple of days earlyer?

No, he hasn't had any shots in at least 6 months. The only change that I can think of is my friend giving him those treats.

Oh but she was living with me for a couple weeks... could the sudden change have stressed him out? Because now she's gone and everything has returned back to normal.
