I feel so bad for my mother. She has been looking to adopt another pure white cat after our old boy died in March. 4 times it has fallen through. 4 times. First time, someone got it before we had a chance to reply to the ad. Second time we were denied because we lived out of town. Third time it was pts. This last time the whole litter suddenly went missing. Missing! How do you just lose a whole litter?? They were supossedly to be on hold for us until we could get there today but when we called before we left, they were nowhere to be found. I personally wonder if they were euthanized but who knows. They said a foster or volunteer proly took them but there's no way to know as their info wasn't updated in the computer. I feel so bad for my mother, she is hysterical. We had bought kitten food and everything. I guess our old boy wants to be the only white boy in my mom's heart. I can't think of any other reason why things haven't worked out. It's so frustrating even for me. We are told 'oh we get truckloads of kittens daily' and 'there will be others' and 'keep looking at our website'...well how often do we have to be disapointed before one works out? There's a big thing out there I like to call "The Feline Universe" - You look out for them, and they make sure that you get the perfect little cat who really needs you. It wouldn't surprise me if a whole litter of kittens was actually stolen, we have that happen quite a lot round here too. Someone spies the kittens, thinks they're cute and bam! The day after they are gone. These are also the cats that show up in the shelters a few months later when they've grown up and "aren't cute anymore". I understand your and your mothers frustration, but what's right will come along.
It really will. I have a little kitty on the other side of the bridge called Gabriel... I looked out for him and was the last person to ever look out for him after he was tortured by some cruel children. On the day he died, he had waited all night for me to come and see him in the morning - he'd been listless and crying until I walked in - then he crawled quietly up into my lap and passed away peacefully and purring. I like to think that he would keep an eye on you if I asked him to.

Thanks for your reply. I like to tell myself that bobo is just making sure that we get the perfect little one (either that or he wants to be the only one), but cmon, why does he have to put all through all this BS too? I guess I get the hint...no white kitten is meant for us at the moment but geez he coulda been nice about it.

Where are you in Tejas? There is a really nice mostly-white cat at our local shelter, adult male but already spayed and declawed, looking for a home! And he is a "lover."

is your mom set on a kitten? she'd probably have more luck finding a young cat that's no longer at that 'cute' stage...
In time the right kitten or cat will come along...Your mom will find one someday!
