So ... Ms Friskers is in heat. And has been for about two weeks now. Will this ever end? She's still nursing the kittens, and the vet won't spay until she's weaned them. But she's starting to make me and roomie a little crazy. Plus she's stalking our fixed male cat, which would be adorable if he wasn't scared to death of her.

The one cute bit is that she does this little sex dance, where she sticks her butt in the air and wiggles. It's pathetically adorable.

You poor thing! I HATE heat! The first time my previous cat (now passed) went into heat, she about drove my husband crazy. She'd rub against him and purr to him. Well, that was it! She was fixed immediately thereafter! Thankfully, Pennie hasn't gone into heat since having her kittens 8 weeks ago!

When Fred was alive, he had been neutered at age 7, (I knew nothing about cats then) an if we had a girlie in heat before we could spay her, he would "service" her." No kittens, happy girl, all was well. If you could get your fixed male to not be so scared of her, your life would be much easier. I know that does not sound very nice, but there was really no way or reason to stop them.

Trust me, if he'd do it, we'd be happy to let him. Prior to going into heat, she bit him twice because of his overly inquisitive nature towards her kittens, so he's pretty dedicated to keeping his distance now.
