She is 5 weeks old and her mother is the stray that is living in our yard. There are 3 other kittens we are going to try to catch them too. Tonight I heard Lucia, her mother, outside calling and she responded.
She has eaten loads and I saw that she can groom herself.
She seems to like our company already. Although she is shy she fell asleep in front of us and doesn't bite. She doesn't scratch. If you hold her she snuggles deeper and falls asleep. She is so tiny. She only weighs a little over a pound.

Isn't she too young to be away from Mama? Is is possible to catch mom AND babies?

She's so cute! One of my favorite colorings!

I agree with the previous poster, is it possible to catch mom and babies?

That is my dilemma. The babies all live under the house. It is not accessible where they are unless they venture out. We put out food and had actually caught another one but this one was bigger, got away and ran. We tried to catch the 2 smallest ones but they ran back under the house.
The vet told us not to take Lucia because she protects and feeds them.

Our problem in that we have raccoons and coyotes. I had to save the one we could capture. But we are going to make another go tonight. I hope we can get them all.
