Lucia who is super super sweet lead us over to her kittens. The good news is that they look healthy. The bad news is I think she is pregnant again.
The kittens are living under the house. We captured one of them and took her to the hospital to be checked. She is FIV and FeLV negative. No fleas. No mites. Looks like Lucia is an excellent mother.
At first we saw the gray one and put some food out. So we thought she had one kitten. Then another one who looked just like her appeared. Then we saw two tiny black ones.
We were able to trap two but one got away. They were starving. We put 4 cans of food down and they ate it all.
So we took the little girl to the hospital and turns out she is 5 weeks old. My daughter fell in love with her so...we are going to keep her. She is so adorable. She was a little frightened but she loves to cuddle already and will fall asleep in your arms. It appears that she may end up medium haired or long haired. We have named her Saffron. I wasn't looking for another cat but...We fell in love.
Tomorrow is trap day for Lucia. She did not react when we took Saffron. She trusts us. So my goal is to s/n Lucia tomorrow. Put food out in traps for the kittens so we can get them. I may foster them but I fear I would fall in love with all of them.
