I have found an excellent deterrent for Darcy. I didn't want to carry around a can of coins all the time and she doesn't really care about a squirt bottle (besides the risk of ruining the wood furniture), so I had hubby go out and purchase a whistle (like the ones used for sporting events). It cost around $3 and is really loud. Darcy HATES it. So far it seems to be working well. The only downside is that it is so loud it makes my ears ring. Hubby says I look like a volleyball coach walking around with a whistle around my neck
