Prayers for my Stepmom

Catkiki did they say what caused you to have Strokes?
I can not go to San Francisco because we have no Gas Money.
I have a Sister and a Brother that live near my Dad though.

I hope she'll be okay!

They never really found out but they suspect it was partly because I was not taking my bp medicine as I should have. They think it was a small blood clot that was in my carated artery. the big one on the left side of your neck that broke loose and went to my brain. I am on different bp meds twice a day and plavix (blood thinner) once a day. In my 5 days in the hospital, I had to have blood thinner shots in my stomach. This is because my blood clotted before they could even get it to the lab for the daily blood tests. My stomach was one big ugly purple bruise by the time I got out of the hospital.

It was a wake-up call though. I take better care of myself now and take my meds every day. I know the warning signs now too. I was having weird vision every once in awhile among other stuff.

For a full recovery.

My Dad can not understand what she is saying. All her words are mixed and up and her Blood Sugar is 300. They said she has High Blood Presure and Diabetis too. My Dad said she had Meds for High Bp but he dosent know if she took them. My Dad has had Diabetis since he was a Kid.

Catkiki, I am glad you are better. I get scared because I see Auras and spots before I get a Migraine.

I saw this post yesterday and I've been praying since then.

I don't have diabetes, but I have had the auras and spots before I get a migraine. I am happy that they are few and far between, but when I do get them, I need to lay down in a cool, dark room.

If she wasn't taking her bp meds, then that could have caused the stokes. How is she doing now?

That's not unusual. My father suffered a massive stroke, and lost just about all his speech. He had a speech therapist come to the house several times a week, and we practiced with him with flash cards, and he recovered his speech almost entirely after a few months.

I havent talked to my Dad today. Last I heard she was stillin the Hospital.

She has had 8 small Strokes now. They can not find out why. They took all kinds of scans and tests. She is being taken to another Hospital today or tomorrow.

I'm sorry to hear that your Mom isn't doing very well. I'll continue to send more blessings & vibes her way.

They found a blackage in her neck and the surgery is tomorrow.

i hope that everything goes well tomorrow.

like jcat said, my aunt had the same thing, after some work she was ok. I hope the outcome is the same

My Aunt died from a Stroke because the Dr messed up. I was 15 at the time and can not forget that.
