Well, I saw a tinge of blood on Pennie's anus tonight. Do cats bleed while in heat? Or is this something to be concerned about? Her poops are orange-ish and soft, not diarrhea. Her kittens are almost 8 weeks old and some of them (maybe just one, I don't know) are pooping white, runny, foam. WHAT IS THIS?! I'll be calling the vet on Monday, but need to know if I should buy some OTC wormer tomorrow. Does this sound like worms? Thank you, in advance, for sharing your wisdom!!

Doesn't sound normal to me (mom or babies). Hopefully its nothing major. But I'd be prepared for the worse. What kind of food are you feeding?

I called and was told that the white stuff was probably puke, not poop. I have another post up about this. There has been none since yesterday morning, probably the food change, I was told. They are 8 weeks old and I started changing their food to a Purina brand all stages food. Pennie's poops are super runny, which is why I changed her food. Trying to find something that agrees with her. The first food I had her on when I got her was fine, but I don't remember what that was. I've had her on kitten food since 2 weeks before the babies were born, and she's had soft or runny poops since then. I'm hoping that once she gets used to this new one, she'll be back to her old digestive self, lol.

Maybe a probiotic would help with the mom. It puts good bacteria back into the stomach which in turn firms up the poop. It will certainly in no way hurt her. This is the product I use and I swear by it. It has worked every single time I've used it. It will work within 24 hours. It can be used anytime on any cat so it won't go to waste. If your vet doesn't carry this brand maybe they carry a different probiotic you can try. http://www.jarrow.com/product/144/Ja...lus_FOS_Powder

I don't know if I would switch foods just yet, then for sure she will get loose stools.

Penny's a stray/foster, right?
if so, no telling WHAT she'd been eating before. i 2nd the idea of a probiotic - if your vet doesn't carry one, you can find BeneBac at Petco & Petsmart. worked wonders for my Java!
