This isn't really a rant, I'm just trying to understand why when DH uses something he can't put it back where he got it from. Now I'm not OC and everything doesn't have to have a certain place. It's just somethings things are where they are for convenience or to help cut back on clutter. Like my hair brush, I keep it to the left of the sink up against the wall because that's where it's most comfortable for me to keep it. When DH uses it and puts it down, he lays it on the right side of the sink. I mean it's not like it would be out of his way to put it back on the left side where he got it from so why does he feel the need to lay it on the right side? Or the hand towel in the kitchen. Instead of putting it back by the sink where I keep it he'll leave it on the kitchen table or something. Can you understand why this bugs me or do you think I'm too anal?

I don't claim to be neat. I will NOT post a pic of my office! However, I once took a personality test that found that I was "mentally organized, but not spatially organized." In other words, if I put down a tool or something, I can come right back to it in a year or more. But if anyone moves it, or even puts it back in its proper place, I'm lost.

He constantly tells me I need to put things in the same place all the time so I will always know where they are, but is completely lost as to what a trash can is for. He will buy something, throw the bag down, often with the receipt and packaging in it. I never know if I should toss them, so the computer room looks like the city dump. My side of it is not exactly neat, but I am afraid to go into his side.

DH uses your hairbrush? If my DH used mine I'd
him.

Anyway, DH is a slob. His office is overflowing into the family room. I give him a list of things to get or do and he leaves it on his dresser after all is done. Receipts? He leaves a trail of them. Why put something in the trash compactor when you can leave it on the counter above it?
