Do any of your cats that like Vic's get agressive with you when trying to get at the Vic's? Last night I got the start of a cold. I had a very sore throat and I've found that a little vics makes it feel better. Jordan was no where in sight so I put it on, laid down and he came running in the room. He jumped on my bed & immedeatly started licking my face & in my ear trying to get at the Vic's. When I wouldn't let him under the covers, he nipped my cheek. After I told him no & that he was naughty, he calmed down & laid down next to me. I still don't get why he loves Vic's so much.

I'd never heard of this. Zane doesn't seem to be particularly attracted. (He's also one of those cats who is immune to catnip; a connection, perhaps?)

I always put some Vics on my nose and upper lip when I go to clean the litter box.

I think it's the menthol in Vics that gets the cats, isn't it? We don't really use the stuff, but one of my husband's cats when he was a child went CRAZY over anything mint flavoured. Absolutely insane! My husband loves mint tea, and whenever he would make any if he turned his back for just a minute, he would find Chloe sitting there with her head fully submerged in the mug. My brother-in-law also used to smoke menthol cigarettes and whenever he came in after being out, she would go crazy smelling his fingers. Very bizarre.

I wonder if ours will go crazy over the Vics. I use it when I have a cold, but haven't had one since we got them....hmm...

Since catnip is a member of the mint family, I am not surprised that some cats will go after minty products.
