ok Im getting an exotic short hair kitty he is 2 years old from a friend who cant keep him because her daughter and DH split up and my friend is taking full custody of her Grandchildren who are extremely allergic to cats...It has been a VERY long time since Ive introduced an adult cat to another adult cat. He will be meeting my 3y/o dsh tabby cat and my 5 month old himalayan. Ive got feliway diffusers plugged in, and Ive got Rudy his own room made and Ive placed a blanket on Tigger and Hemi's bed for them to rub their scent on and Ive put a clean blanket in what will be Rudy's room for him to rub his scent on...Is there anything else you guys can think of to help the introduction go smoothly. I really want them to get along and I want this to work out. I will be getting him around June when my kittens go their new homes. Thanks Guys!

*Rudy is fixed, Tigger is fixed and Hemi will be fixed on Thursday.*

sounds to me like you've got all the bases covered!!! in my experience, the best thing is to allow plenty of time before direct contact is made and the kits are curious about who's in the room. Of course, there is usually the sniffs & hisses *(just like starting a new job in an office
) but nothing really major, unlike if the intruder is suddenly there, and lashes out in fear, thus starting an endless feud between newcomer & current residents.
I hope that we can see pix of Rudy very soon!
